DURATION: 4 to 5 Days

After successful completion of the course, the learner can apply for their Security Officer licence. Following SIA licence receipt, job opportunities include security guarding in retail and events, manned guarding, residential security and concierge roles.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK – EFAW

From 1st April 2021, it is a legal requirement of your SIA course for you to have an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

  • You can add the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification to your training package and this will be delivered on the first day of your course.
  • You don’t need to add this qualification to your package if you already have a valid Emergency First Aid Qualification or equivalent from a course you attended in person (Online course certificates are not acceptable).
  • Your certificate must have at least 1 year’s validity from your course start date.

Description

DETAILS

After successful completion of the course, the learner can apply for their Security Officer licence. Following SIA licence receipt, job opportunities include:

  • Security guarding in retail and events,
  • manned guarding, Residential security and
  • Concierge roles.

Job role involves ensuring the safety of individual in an event or building, intercepting intruders or preventing incidents and reducing risk within the workplace.

DURATION

  • Without Emergency First Aid at Work training: 4 Days
  • With Emergency First Aid at Work training: 5 Days

DOOR SUPERVISOR TRAINING VS SECURITY GUARD TRAINING

A good question that we hear often is how a Door Supervisor Licence and a Security Guard Licence differ. Here we explain…

  • A Door Supervisor Licence allows you to work BOTH as a door supervisor AND as a security guard
  • A Security Guard Licence ONLY permits you to work in a Manned Guarding role.

From the above you can see that a Door Supervisor Licence will give you more career options and work opportunities. However, holding a Security Guard Licence is still very much a good choice.
