About our FAW course
The First Aid at Work qualification provides learners with a comprehensive set of practical skills required by first aiders in high-risk workplaces in line with HSE guidelines. It meets the standards required to comply with Health and Safety and gives you the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.
You never know when you might need to give first aid, whether in the workplace or in public. If you have first aid training, this can be the difference that helps to save someone’s life.
For Close Protection Operatives, the First Aid at Work training qualification is mandatory in order to begin SIA security training. First Aid training must be completed before starting your chosen SIA training course.

Our First Aid training centre is located within RTC Business Park in Derby, DE1 2SX. It has plenty of onsite parking and is situated just a half mile from the city’s train station, with fast and frequent trains to places across the Midlands and the rest of the UK.

Are you taking this course as part of your SIA training?
Learners are now required to show a valid First Aid certificate in order to start their SIA security training. The First Aid at Work qualification is required for the Close Protection licence. We offer FAW courses on their own or in conjunction with our Close Protection top up security training courses.

Is this First Aid course for me?
The course is designed for people who require training in Level 3 First Aid at Work.
This First Aid course (FAW) is ideal for people working in high risk workplace environments such as construction sites, factories and warehouses, and for security guards, door supervisors or close protection officers hoping to gain or renew their security licence.
The training for the FAW qualification equips you with live-saving first aid skills to respond to a wide range of accidents, injuries and illnesses that could occur in the workplace as well as outside of work.
Upon completion of this 3 day award, learners will be qualified in First Aid at Work and will receive a First Aid at Work certificate valid for 3 years by Security Kings. This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981.
